Apparently, as a teenager, Tom Cruise wanted to become a Catholic priest, but he was unable to complete the task because he was asked to leave St. Francis Seminary at the University of Cincinnati for stealing alcohol . Discussing the same thing in detail, his schoolmate Shane Dempler said “We found some bottles of liquor and kept them near the woods. The priests didn’t find it until other children discovered our plan. They went into the woods and got drunk. They were caught in the act and forced to confess.”
Shane Dempler went on to say, “The school wrote our parents a letter saying they liked us, but they didn’t want us back. So they didn’t kick us out, we just preferred not to go.” Saying that Tom Cruise was genuinely interested in the priesthood, Shane also said that Tom Cruise realised it was too early to choose his career. He concluded his message by saying: “We used to go to mass, hang out in the chapel and we liked hearing the stories of the priests. We thought priests had a great lifestyle and were really interested in the priesthood.”
